Learn the basics of photography in this fun workshop. I started out as a press photographer in the early 90's. My path has taken me through landscape, street, concert, portrait, and fashion photography. I would like to share how I was able to make sense of the basic functions of the camera the very night I bought my first camera. I started with natural (or available) light and that is how we will begin. Once we understand how the camera works and why, we will be able to apply that knowledge to photography.
This five hour workshop will demystify photography, by breaking it down with digestible explanations and analogies. Bring your DSLR or mirrorless camera that has manual mode. I will do the rest. By the end of the workshop, you will have camera handling, focus, shutter speed, ISO, aperture, white balance, and focal length locked down in your brain. You can then spend the rest of your life with a solid foundation in photography and a love affair with your camera.
There class size will be 6-8 participants. In the first half of the workshop, we will discuss the camera and what makes it tick. After the break, we will have an open discussion with questions and answers. You will then apply your new skills on a professional model for a casual lifestyle type shoot. Yes! You will get to have new photos for your portfolio!
The class size is small and will fill up. You will need a confirmation email to attend. Message this page or email me at firstname.lastname@example.org to sign up.
