Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Where are you located? Where do we set up a photo session?

A: My studio is located in the River Arts District in Asheville, North Carolina. The address is 191 Lyman Street

(Studio 250). Sessions are booked by appointment only. Since we are so lucky to be located in such a

beautiful part of the country, there are many outdoor locations for great portraits as well. Four of my favorite

places to shoot are Beaver Lake, The Botanical Gardens at UNCA, downtown Asheville, and

The River Arts District. Some clients prefer to have a shoot at their home of a location of his

or her choosing.

Q: What if I schedule an outdoor shoot and the weather is bad?

A: We can simply reschedule for another day.

Q: I want to schedule a portrait or headshot session, but I feel weird about going by myself.

Can I bring someone with me?

A: Absolutely. If I do not know a client, and we have shoot scheduled, I require the

client to try to bring someone along. A friend or relative will make you feel more comfortable

and will undoubtedly make the session more enjoyable. I often bring my wife along to help

assist with lighting and as a second pair of eyes to make sure the scene is all in order.

Q: I live in Asheville, but my wedding is in Charleston. Can you be available for the shoot?

A: Yes. Any assignment outside a sixty mile radius of Asheville will require and additional charge

to compensate for travel expenses. If one overnight stay (or more) is required, hotel expenses

would simply be added to the cost.

Q: What should I wear?

A: Carefully consider the image that you are wanting to achieve. If you are not sure, bring a

few outfit changes. For example you might want to bring casual, business, and evening attire.

I recommend bringing accessories like hats, umbrellas, scarves, dress jackets, etc. I also

recommend that you avoid wearing clothes with big logos.

Q: How long will it take to get my images?

A: I am committed to get the images to you as fast as possible. Plan for one to two days for

portraits, commercial, and headshots. Allow one to two weeks for very large events and
