About

Hi. My name is Duncan Chaboudy. I was born in Portsmouth, Ohio and lived there through the eighth grade. While growing up, my mother was a school teacher and my dad was a portrait photographer. In 1986 the family moved to Houston, TX. I finished high school in Houston only to return to Portsmouth to study photography. In the early 1990s. I took all nine photography courses that Shawnee State University had to offer. I managed the University dark room, and was a photographer for the local newspaper The Community Common.

In 1995, I was a photographer for a Wilmington, NC music publication called Juice Magazine. For the next ten plus years, I was interested in landscape photography and photographing musical bands. I would work in Yellowstone National Park in the summers. On my days off, I would explore shooting with medium and large format cameras in the wilderness.

I moved to Asheville in 1996. The creative vibe and competition in Asheville, forced me to get better by learning studio lighting, advanced editing techniques, and styling photo shoots. Over the past several years, I have expanded my client list that includes Ingles Markets, Keller Williams, Stantec, Borg Warner, Sophie Magazine, Mountain Style Magazine, Diamond Brand, and many small businesses.

If you are in need of portrait, product, editorial, or event photography, send me a message detailing exactly what you are needing. I will respond promptly with a price quote and a detailed description of what you can expect from the photo shoot. I currently live in Asheville, NC and regularly travel to Cincinnati, Palm Beach, and Las Vegas for assignments. I am available to travel nationwide.
